Common hypnosis phases

Preparation
The first phase typically involves having the subject sit or lie down and getting comfortable.

Induction
Induction takes the subject from normal awareness to a state of enhanced relaxation.

Deepening
The deepening phase takes the subject from a very relaxed state into the fully "hypnotized" state, where conscious thinking is minimized.

Purpose
If the purpose of the hypnosis session is amusement, then this phase is when the subjects are asked to say or perform things that will entertain the audience. If the purpose is a therapeutic effect, this is when the subject is encouraged to see themselves as what they want to become, such as a non-smoker. If negative reinforcement is used, then this is when the subject is told that they will feel ill, or something similar, when the subject engages in the activity that they want to stop.

Awakening
The awakening phase is when the subject is taken out of the hypnotic state. If the session is to try to alleviate insomnia, then the subject is encouraged to sleep, otherwise the subject is brought back to a state of awareness with the conscious mind fully reengaged.

Self-hypnosis (or autosuggestion) -- hypnosis in which a person hypnotizes himself or herself without the assistance of another person to serve as the hypnotist — is a staple of hypnotherapy-related self-help programs. It is most often used to help the self-hypnotist stay on a diet, overcome smoking or some other addiction, or to generally boost the hypnotized person's self-esteem.

This is where the magic happens. If you simply want to hypnotize someone of go for Self Hypnosis, here's what you do:
1- Encourage your subject to relax his mind and muscles.
- Using a calm and soothing voice, tell your subject to inhale from his nose and exhale from his mouth, and instruct him to watch his breath slowly leave his mouth (your subject can keep his eyes open or closed, whichever he prefers).

3- Tell him to continue this, and to add colors and patterns to each breath (which represent his worries, thoughts, inhibitions, and whatever he imagines).

4- Once his thoughts are floating away with each exhalation, encourage your subject to imagine himself filling up with liquid, from his lowest extremities to his head. Describe the liquid to him -- the color, the texture -- and tell him to imagine it slowly flowing up his body. When it reaches his head, he will feel completely at ease... until you want him to leave the trance or he chooses to -- whichever comes first.

Birth of the Universal Mind & Powers WithinAt one point, mind is also matter. Mind is not abstract; it is a solid reality. Individual mind is a part of the universal mind or the total mind. Many times it does appear to us that we have an individual mind. This means that three billion people have three billion individual minds, but each and every mind is an inseparable part of the universal mind. In a room there are several lights and they all seem to be different, but are they not emitting part of the same electrical energy to which they are all connected? So each light is not different from its source. Similarly, the individual mind or the ego, the individual perception that we experience is born out of ignorance, and that is the bondage, the limitation which we will all have to break through....
